Diving in the United States
The United States of America is well known simply as USA and is a federal republic that has 50 state and one federal district. The United States of America is located in Central North America and has five empty territories and nine deserts in the Pacific and the Caribe.
To dive in the United States you will find more than hundreds of exciting diving sites, awhile the Caribbean land and the islands of the United States of the Pacific South offer to the divers so many amazing places to the divers.
Awhile you are visiting the United States, you can dive in the North Carolina, because it has the best places to dive, especially if you love the wrecks. All the area of the North Carolina is very well known as the “Cemetery of the Atlantic.”
Diving in the United States and its seabed
It extends from Nags Head to the Cabo Fear, exist a great number of diving sites to choose. During the diving practice in the United States you can find sharks, turtles, whales, dolphins, sword fish, angel fish, lion fish, barracuda, sunfish and jellyfish. Other popular dive sites can be found on Santa Catalina Island in California and throughout Florida.
In the “Treasure Coast,” in Florida, the seabed are beautiful gardens where are so many pelagic, lobsters and a huge variety of thorny large crustaceans and colorful. A very famous wreck that is in the seabed is the “Spanish Plate Fleet,” sank because a hurricane in 1715 and it is full of marine life right now.
In “The treasure coast” is “West Palm Beach” where are abundant marine currents that attracts a great number of species that live in these waters in the middle of delicious and warm temperature.
For the good of the divers, in these waters you can find giant marine turtles that are not shy at all and are very friendly.
Among all the marine areas of the United States, “West Palm Beach” is the most rich in the numbers of creatures in it. And even the diving groups are between 15 or 20 people the giant creatures always are much more than them.
Between the months of April and June you can see them in big numbers, especially in the season “pico” mating and nesting. There are spectacular hawksbill, loggerhead, loggerhead turtle and one that is truly colossal: the leatherback turtle, which can weigh over half a ton!!!
This wonderful spectacle is decorated for a great number of alive corals, bright orange sponges, where there are so many turtles to avoid the currents and the predators.
Further the turtles, the school of tropical fishes are very common in all their forms, colors and sizes, lobsters, sharks, eagle rays and the beautiful amberjack.
It is possible as well dive to appreciate the wreck “Mizpa,” which was sunken intentionally in the late 90s and has led to a spectacular artificial reef.
Rest in the bottom, in a vertical position and around there are spectacular angel fishes, which are the biggest of the world. Near to this wreck are other two more called 2PC 11” and “Amaryllis,” that has in their interior a very impressive variety of spiny oyster.
The wreck “Barcaza” is the home of immense is home to huge green morays and large groupers. And talking about Miami, we can start saying that it is denominated as the “Diving capital and recreate diving site of the world.” The waters that surround the east coast of “Miami Dade” have big numbers of diving sites.
Their splendid warm waters, enriched by the Currents of the Golf are the home for incredible marine life. These waters are turquoise, and are the only home for tropical coral reefs of the Continental United States.
This barrier reef extends south through “Florida Keys.” But it is necessary to note that these seabed have the "collection" of artificial reefs up most prolific in the world, created in the early twentieth century.
The “Emerald Reef” is a natural reef located in the coast of “Key Biscayne.” The crystal color of their waters, let us enjoy the great variety of hard corals, sponges and beautiful gorgonians, among which fish swim grunts and barracuda.
