Sesimbra can be considered the diving capital of Portugal. The area has many deserted beaches and some can only be reached by sea. If you dream to sunbath in peace and away from public eyes, grab a boat and head there ASAP. Most dive sites are close to the harbor and are less than 40 minutes away by boat. You can have any kind of dives that you want here, whether it’s wreck, cave, drift, deep, wall, etc. Mild temperature allows you to dive almost all year long.
Baia da Armação is a reef dive near the shore where you can find vast colonies of sea anemones and sponges. Arcanzil requires higher level and dive training since it has some currents and can be quite deep. You will find many kinds if fishes and marine life here. Baleeira is also an advanced dive where you can find gurnards feeding.
