Selayar is a hidden paradise and is located off the South end of Sulawesi. It is made up of several small islands, but the greatest part of its territory is made up of water. The powder white sand beaches are perfect to relax and the eastern coast is just perfect for diving.
Healthy reefs hide in the endless blue and you can find anything from pygmy seahorses to colorful nudibranchs, surrounded by all sorts of reef fish, huge lobsters and crabs at night. Its underwater seascape is dominated by sea fan hanging on the wall and postcard view sponges. In several locations, where some conservations efforts are made due to the trace of damaged reef, schools of fusiliers, snappers, and sometimes tunas, manta rays, eagle rays, and sharks can be seen passing by.
Around the Selayar House Reef you can find some great diving. Colorful reef fish hide in gorgonians and vibrant soft coral. The waters around this reef are still undiscovered and you might even see white tip sharks, black tip or grey sharks.
