About diving in Bunaken

by Scubacrowd

Bunaken Island near the Manado coastline is located at the northern tip of the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Bunaken National Park boasts an area of over 890 km² of natural beauty, ready to be discovered. However, the infrastructure is more than satisfying, providing accommodation and dive trips for visitors.

With white sandy beaches, Bunaken Islands has one of the world's most beautiful sea environments. Oceanic currents may explain, in part, why Bunaken National Marine Park has such a high level of biodiversity. The variety of sea life is stunning. There is a high density of fish, like barracudas, groupers, turtles and dolphins. The sea life around the Bunaken Islands is an incredible experience for experienced and novice divers alike.

The best dive sites around the Bunaken Islands are Lenkuan 1, 2 and 3. Lenkuan 1 is a beautiful reef, where napoleon fish are very common. Lenkuan 2 is a vertical wall, covered with colorful corals and sponges. Lenkuan 3 is another beautiful wall, where you can find jacks and barracudas.
